Rach’s maternity session

There was lots going on with Rach’s three older kids during her maternity session - everyone wanted to be snuggled close to mum. I think Nellie showing me her baby bump might be my favourite one of all. To see more of this beautiful family click here.

Newborn baby Remi was so quiet and placid, it was beautiful to capture some quiet time between mum and bub. Pretty sure her big sister Ava was jumping on the bed behind while I took this shot. To see more of their newborn photography session click here.

Cat and Marissa

Little Marissa was so exuberant and outgoing. She was keen to show me the nursery for the baby that was on the way. to show me her room, to show me the backyard. But when she had a fall and hurt herself, all she wanted was to be close by her mummy’s side. To see more of their session click here.

Liz and Leni

Leni was all dressed up in her special dress for her mummy’s maternity photos, but when I arrived she decided it was time to wear her Little Red Riding Hood dress instead. Lucky for me mum Liz and dad Dean are super laid back and let Leni take the lead. She rocked that dress all day. To see more of their session click here.

Alexandra and Jack

Jack was your typical little dynamo - keen to get out and run amok. Mum Alex set aside a time for some gorgeous indoor maternity photos before heading to the lake for paddle boarding. To see more of this session click here.

Short n sweet... with the Stewart family

Central Coast Family Photographer

This family have only recently moved into their new home, so it was really special to be able to capture beautiful family photos on their amazing property. The older girls were lovely, although a little shy when I first arrived. It often happens with the tweens, the camera can seem a little intimidating. Thankfully, as soon we we went for a walk and got talking they were able to relax. Little Evie was an absolute crack up - six years old and full of sass, nothing worried little Evie, least of all a silly old camera. She was happy to tear around, dancing and just enjoying being loved by her parents.

I enjoy seeing how each of the kids interact with their parents. Evie the youngest with full of enthusiasm and hugged her mum and dad with unbounded joy whenever she passed near. Amelia and Sara were more reserved, but each quietly leaned in to snuggle with their parents when a quiet moment allowed for it. Together the girls had that camaraderie that only a sister can know - shared love, laughter and easy, friendly banter.

Hanging out with this lovely family was a great way to spend an autumn afternoon.

Nanny Carol was given a great present for Christmas - a gift voucher for a photography session with yours truly! These active grandparents spend a lot of time with their adorable grandson Khan, so it was only natural that they wanted to include him in the session too.

Unfortunately when I turned up for their session, little Khan was sick. The poor little guy was struggling with his asthma and just doing it tough. All he wanted was to snuggle in poppy’s arms. And that was perfectly ok, because we got some beautiful photos of the boys together.

Khan was such a little champion - he soldiered on, kicking his footy, playing in his amazing car (with some nifty remote control driving by poppy) and following his dog Dottie around.

Short n sweet... with the Cutcliffe family

I think one of the things I love most about my photography business is being able to document a families journey through the years. This gorgeous family had a maternity session before their youngest was born. I then got to be there for Miss Tegan’s newborn photos. And now they have done another family session together. I love seeing the little changes - Theo is talking so much more, he’s much more confident. And the big changes - Tegan has grown sooo much!!

But what I love most of all is the things that don’t change - this family are so calm, peaceful and affectionate, there’s a lot of love in this small house.

And I may have mentioned once or twice how obsessed I am with Theo’s hair….

Short n sweet... with newborn baby Henry

Central Coast Newborn Photographer

Someone forgot to tell Henry Wilbow how a newborn baby is supposed to behave. This precious little soul is not your average, sleepy newborn. He is bright eyed and super alert watching everyone around him with knowing eyes. He is super strong, lifting his head to scan the room for his big sister and throwing himself around in his daddy’s arms to see what is going on. It’ll be no time at all before this little man is up and after chasing Leni.

Beautiful Henry is so very loved. His big sister Leni dotes on him. She spent lots of time kissing his hands, playing with his toes and checking out his belly button - because they sure a funny looking on a newborn!

I feel so privileged to be able to photograph the Wilbow’s journey with Henry - from gorgeous baby bump in his mummy’s tummy to much loved baby brother.

This gorgeous family were still getting ready when I arrived for their maternity photography session. Dear little Leni had on her prettiest pink dress and her mummy Liz was brushing her hair. It was lovely to capture a few photos of the two of them sitting quietly together and having some mummy-daughter time. I had to laugh though, it wasn’t long until Leni decided that her little red riding dress was much better. Lucky Dean and Liz are so cruisy - they let Leni do her thing, which meant Leni was happy and confident throughout the session.

Liz has been on bed rest since 23 weeks and making it to 31 weeks is her personal best for a pregnancy, as their daughter Leni arrived at 30 weeks. Her belly is looking awesome already – I find it amazing that a woman’s body has the ability to grow and change to fit a baby. I can’t wait see how Liz’s belly grows and changes over the next few weeks.

I love when families choose to wait to find out the sex of their newborn baby. Surprises are my favourite. Big sister Leni has her heart set on a little sister – she even has names picked out and ready to go. Mum and dad have been gently preparing her for the fact that she may indeed end up with a little brother. She’s not all that fussed – I’m pretty sure she thinks they’re wrong anyway!!

Their maternity photography session was so relaxed - we just hung out at their home. Leni had time to do some drawing, practice writing her name, jump on the trampoline and ride her scooter with their dog Jet.

So looking forward to catching up with these guys for their newborn photography session once their baby arrives!

Be in photos for your kids

Central Coast Family Photographer

I was putting together our yearly family photo album last year and I had a bit of a dilemma. There was only ONE photo of me.

One.

And it was a selfie my daughter had taken of the two of us.

Other than that.

Nada.

Oh dear.

As the mumma, the memory maker and photo taker, I had been so busy taking photos of the kids that I had not bothered to think about being in the images. And now our family album is decidedly lacking one member of the family.

So here’s my commitment for the new year. I will be in at least one image each and every week.

Sometimes I might be brave and share them on social media. Mostly I will probably hide them in the black hole of online storage that is my photo files. But definitely, when it comes to the end of the year, I will have at least 52 images that include me, so that in years to come, when I curl up on the couch with the kids to look at our photo albums, I will be in those photos too.

My children will see the love I have for them, in the way I hold them, in the way I dress them and do their hair, because I will take images of all of these moments with me in the frame.

So here’s a photo of my girl with her dadda - soon I’ll be in these photos too.

Short n sweet... with the Francis family

A gift voucher for a newborn baby photography session is one of the most popular reasons people buy gift certificates from me. For the family that already has everything they need, a photography session is the perfect present.

These guys chose to wait, rather than a newborn photography session, they waited until their gorgeous baby girl was 10 months old before they had their session together. Ohh and she was so very lovely. 10 months is a gorgeous age. Little Lexi was so bright and alert. She totally stole my heart with her toothy grin and her constant baby chatter. Plus those blue eyes. Stop it. She was like a doll. Just beautiful. She took delight in everything around her. She was constantly watching her big brother as he tore around the place. She giggled at leaves as they brushed by her. Everything was awesome to little Lexi.

For big brother Luka, everything was an adventure. He explored through the bush. He chased ducks. He found all sorts of interesting looking object along the waters edge. But the thing he loved most of all, was throwing rocks in the water. Big, rocks, little rocks, anything that made a splash.

Brant and Melissa were so chilled out with their little tribe. They happily let the kids lead the way through our session. By engaging their little ones and their natural curiosity to explore, it meant this sweet family had a relaxed, happy afternoon out at the lake, with me along with them to document this moment in their life.

Short n sweet...with Marissa and Bear

I was greeted enthusiastically at this families front door by a very happy Bear. This gorgeous Rottweiler stands guard at the front window of their house, keeping a keen eye on the comings and goings of everything that happens on their street. Nothing goes by without him noticing - a few barks and a wag of his tail lets everyone know there is something going down.

For all his size and guarding bluster, Bear is a big ol’ softy. This lovely dog is so well behaved and just the perfect family pet. He adores three year old Marissa. These two buddies move en masse throughout their day. They cuddle up on the couch for tv watching, snuggle on Bear’s bed when they need down time and wander around the backyard happily together. When Marissa organised a tea party in her bedroom, Bear was right by her side and part of the party.

Sweet Marissa went into super host over drive when I arrived. This beautiful little soul was that keen to show me all the amazing things in her home - the nursery for her new baby brother or sister, the Christmas presents for her cousins, her lovely bedroom, Bear’s bed. Marissa was chatting nineteen to the dozen - she was so enthusiastic and keen to share her world with me. I feel it is such a privilege to be able to share time with our little people during this wonder filled phase.

Short n sweet... with Fletcher and Julian

Central Coast Family Photographer

These busy boys kept me on my toes and laughing the whole session. They bounced excitedly from one activity to another and even though it was rainy, it did not slow them down one little bit. There was bike riding on the back deck, scooter riding down the hallway, lego building, racetracks for cars, book reading, jumping on beds and a disco in the lounge room. As a mum whose kids skateboard down the hallway, hanging with this busy family made me feel right at home. Little boys need the chance to be active and burn energy.

In saying that, Fletcher still made time to go and sit quietly with his special friend Anouschka. Along with two busy little boys, this family is home to three beautiful Hungarian Vizsla fur babies, Anouschka, Laurent, and their newest addition, Specter. These good looking dogs were part of the fun throughout the day, playing happily along side the boys with cheeky Specter constantly stealing toys from the boys. But it was the regal old lady Anouschka who holds a special place in Fletcher’s heart.

The boys went to get a treat for the dogs and when they came back with carrots I thought they were playing a trick on me. Not at all. These fur babies love nothing better than to gnaw on a nice cold carrot as treat. You learn something new every day!

As our session drew to a close Fletcher started to get a bit teary, so I though it was time to beat a hasty exit as he must have had enough. Turns out this sweet little man hates goodbyes and didn’t want me to leave. Of course I stayed for one more dance off - who doesn’t love a boogie in the lounge room on a rainy day?!
