I'm Katy Allen and I am a natural light family documentary photographer based on the Central Coast of NSW. You can generally find me at or near the beach complete with messy hair and sandy toes.

I'm lucky enough to be mum to two amazing humans who give me endless joy (and a few grey hairs). I picked up the camera to capture the magic of their everyday moments and my obsession with all things photography grew from there. I cherish those moments that are immortalised through photography; my son and his seemingly endless affair with trucks and lego,  my daughter and the missing teeth phase (still in it), the way my son sticks his tongue out when he's really concentrating (just like his dad). With over 15 years experience as a high school teacher, plus a family of my own - I know that kids can’t be rushed, that everything happens in their time, which means that I am a very easy going photographer.

My passion is documenting the beauty and chaos of everyday. I'm all about keeping it real, being natural and leaving life unposed. I find joy in the ordinary moments that are sometimes overlooked or taken for granted; little ones holding hands with mum, wrestles with dad, snuggled up reading books, board game afternoons or out having family adventures like exploring rock pools and going for bushwalks. Seriously, I even love capturing meltdowns and tantrums. Because it is these interactions that truthfully reflect a family's life together. I believe that these real moments are the memories that deserve to be preserved.

Authentically documenting everyday is what I do. Because everyday is awesome.
