A little bit longer... with the Harrison family
Family Photography Central Coast
When your family is scattered all over the world, getting together for a family holiday is a big deal! This gorgeous family had gathered in Avoca for a summer holiday. This is why they were so keen to capture some beautiful photos together. I loved walking into their holiday home to see beds scattered around in interesting spots (think Harry Potter sleeping under the stairs!) so that the cousins had plenty of options to sleep comfortably. With the grandparents, their three sons plus their wives and children, it was a BUSY holiday home. I was very impressed with so many people in one apartment, everyone was in good spirits and all organised when I arrived.
The skies were ominous when I arrived, storms were rumbling close by. I asked if they’d prefer to move their session indoors, but this go getter crew were keen to head to the beach. We made our way down to the sand got a few posed family portraits before the rain hit. Taking it all in their stride, these guys were happy to hang under the pines and wait for the shower to pass. Unfortunately, rather than getting better, the weather got worse and when the lightning got too close for comfort we made a dash to the safety of the surf club. We enjoyed watching the wild weather - this was the first rain we had had in months.
As soon as it was safe, we ventured back out for some relaxed beach photos. The kids raced around and were able to let off some that crazy energy they get in the afternoon. It wasn’t long before the rain rolled round again and we had to get back to the surf club for shelter. This time though, the kids decided playing in the rain was more fun than watching it - so they went nuts. They jumped in puddles, got showered by the down pipes and enjoyed dancing around in the rain. I love when parents let their kids do their thing - these natural photos are some of my favourites.
