Short n sweet... with newborn baby Vaughan

Newborn Photographer Central Coast

Family traditions are a beautiful memory to honour during a new born photography session. Newborn baby Vaughan wore a 40 year old hand knitted jacket, bonnet and booties that his mum and aunty had both worn as babies. It was lovely to hear Brooke and her mum discuss the family friend that had made this delicate outfit. I was amazed that it was still so soft and white after all these years - it all comes down to gentle hand washing, which is almost a lost art in our fast paced society.

Newborn baby Vaughan was fast asleep when arrived for his photo session. His amazing mum Brooke was still getting ready. Vaughan had been unsettled throughout the morning so Brooke did what any new mum would do - she called her own mum for help. I think it is so important that new mums are able to raise a white flag and let people know when they need help. This is especially true for the incredible women like Brooke, who are parenting on their own. Being a parent is a challenging task and having an appropriate support network around to help when things are tough makes life that little bit easier. Brooke’s parents both turned up through the morning to help her out.

Brooke had done a beautiful job decorating Vaughan’s nursery. Elephants and African animals featured in this sweet little room. I had a lovely morning hanging out with this sweet little family.
