5 must take photos when you are at the beach with your kids

Family Photographer Central Coast

Regardless of the camera you are using, whether it is the latest Nikon mirrorless camera, your clunky old DSLR or the trusty iphone, when you hit the beach with your kids you want to nail beautiful images every time. Here’s 5 easy to remember shots that will help turn an average day at the beach into a timeless photo album worthy memory.

  1. Landscape

Stand back and take it all in. Pay tribute to the expanse of the ocean and the sky. We are so small in the big scheme of things. Let the landscape be the hero in this image.

2. Details

Now get up close and take in all the sweetness of your little ones. The messy hair, the sandy toes. Hold tight to the little pieces of your kids that you will miss most when they grow up.

3. Treasures

We are yet to leave the beach without finding some little treasure. An interesting shell, a Port Jackson shark egg, or a little starfish. Kids have the best eye for capturing details, just follow their lead.

4. exploring

Every time we arrive at the beach my kids find new and inventive ways to explore the local environment and entertain themselves. Whether it’s building sandcastle forts, decorating with seaweed or balancing rocks, kids love engaging with nature.

5. Freedom

I love that when we hit the beach, my kids find the space to be themselves. Away from the distractions of technology, the kids are able to be fully present in the moment. Snorkelling around the rocks, body surfing in the shorey or racing the waves up and down the sand. Being outdoors gives kids the freedom to be kids.

6. Current favourite toy

I know, I know. I said a shot list of 5, but come on, we can’t leave out their favourite toys now can we? Our family albums over the years have shown the evolution of our kids. My little man’s beach toys were buckets and balls, then diggers and dumpers. Now he won’t leave home without his surf board. Favourite toys are a classic to reminisce about when you have a cuddle together while looking through your yearly album.
